ON como preposicion de lugar
ON: Por general se usa como preposicion de lugar asi:
Cuando se refiere a una superficie donde reposa el objeto de la preposición. Ejemplos= ON la mesa, ON el piso, tierra, campo de juego, pared, acera, playa, etc. Cuidado con las sillas. Si la silla es simple, sin brazos, decimos que sentamos ON la silla, pero si tiene brazos es IN la silla (“poltrona, butaca”) u otro silla con brazos.
· Lugares que pueden ser considerados como puntos definidos en una línea o circuito: ejemplos= un lugar ON la frontera, ON el trayecto del bus, ON el ecuador, ON el filo, ON la carrera/ el calle/ la carretera/ la avenida, etc. (pero usamos AT cuando se refiere a una dirección precisa. Por ejemplo: Su tienda esta ON 5th Avenida, pero su casa esta AT 572 Roble Carrera. También usamos AT cuando se refiere a una parada en un circuito o ruta.
· Lugares al borde o cerca de ríos, lagos, bayos, mares, océanos, etc. Ejemplos= Un pueblo ON la costa, ON el Golfo, ON el Bayo de Biscayne, etc.
· El uso de cualquier método de transporte, menos automóviles y camiones. Ejemplos= El esta ON el bus, avión, tren, ferri, bicicleta, caballo, etc…. Pero decimos que alguien esta IN un carro o camión.
· Paginas. Ejemplos= ON pagina número 22, ON la pagina opuesto, ON la primera pagina, ON la ultima pagina, etc.
· Cualquier isla pequeña, si no es un país (pero usamos IN para islas grandes y islas pequeñas si son una nación). Ejemplos= Mi abuelo nació ON la isla de Coche, creció IN Cuba, y ahora viva IN Jamaica.
· “El continente” (si usamos la palabra “continente” en una frase con preposición) ejemplo = Algunos tipos de animales solamente se encuentran ON el continente de África. El se fue de Inglaterra con el edad de 15, para vivir ON el continente (de Europa). Áreas de desierto son comunes ON el continente de Australia. (OJO, si quitamos la palabra “continente” diremos, “Áreas de desierto son comunes IN Australia”.
ON también se usa para indicar posición relativa a la parte arriba, el fondo, o al lado del objeto de la preposición. Ejemplos= ON el izquierda, ON el derecho, ON el tope, ON el fondo, ON el interior, ON el exterior, etc. del objeto.

· Places that can be thought of as fixed points along a line or circuit: Examples= a place on the border, on the bus route, on the equator, on the edge, on the road/ street/ avenue, etc. (but we use AT when referring to a precise address. For example: His shop is ON 5th Avenue, but his home is AT 572 Oak Road. We also use AT when referring to a “stop” along a circuit or route. See rules for AT.
· Places on or near the shores of rivers, lakes, bays, seas, oceans, etc. Examples= A town on the coast, on the Gulf, on the Bay of Biscayne, etc.
· The use of any means of transport, except automobiles and trucks Examples= He is on the bus,plane, train, ferry, trolley, bicycle, horse, etc…. but we say someone is in an automobile or truck.
· Pages Examples= on page number 22, on the opposite page, on the first page, on the last page, etc.
· Any small island, if it is not a nation (but we use IN for large islands and small island nations). For example= My grandfather was born on the island of Coche, grew up in Cuba, and now lives in Jamaica.
· “The continent” (if we use the word “continent” in the prepositional phrase) example = Some types of animal are found only on the African continent. He left England at the age of 15, to go live on the Continent (of Europe). Desert areas are common on the continent of Australia. (Note however, if we omit the word “continent” we would say, “Desert areas are common in Australia”. See the rules for IN.
On is also used to indicate position relative to the top, bottom, or side(s), of the prepositional object. Examples= on the left, on the right, on the top, on the bottom, on the inside, on the outside, etc.

IN como preposición de posición
“IN” como preposición indicando lugar o posición. Por normal precede un pronombre que indique:
*Un espacio o lugar parcialmente encerrado que puedes entrar.
*Áreas geográficos con perímetros definidos, tales como IN un edificio, cuarto, garaje, ascensor, bañera, ducha, hamaca, y sillón ( pero se usa ON con una silla sin brazos o un banco) IN una cueva, túnel, hueco, automóviles (pero usamos ON con otros medios de transportación como buses, barcos, aviones, trenes, etc. IN un parque, jardín, bosque, valle, deserto, colinas de montañas, estadios, campos, pero ON la superficie de un campo de deportes.) IN un pueblo, ciudad, municipio, estado, o nación. IN una isla grande, y un nación isla, pero decimos ON una isla pequeña, y ON la continente.
*La calle si se refiere a una escena de acción tal como: Bailando IN la calle, marchando IN la calle, disturbios IN la calle…. Vea las reglas de ON y AT cuando se refiere a una calle como lugar general o si es parte de una dirección específico.
*Publicaciones o documentos, por ejemplo IN un periódico, libro, revista, artículo, orden…
*Áreas celestiales como IN el cielo, aire, universo, galaxia, cielos, constelación, atmosfera, espacio…. Pero ON un planeta o la luna.
*Pueblos o ciudades cuando se habla como sitio de casa, visita, o escena de un evento: Ejemplos - Ellos se conocieron IN Caracas. Ella viva IN Barcelona. El está IN Caripe hoy, pero usamos AT cuando un pueblo o ciudad esta mencionado como una parada temporal o un destino final o si solamente esta mencionado como punto de referencia cuando damos direcciones.
IN: Usually precedes a noun which refers to:
· Any enclosed or semi-enclosed space into which one can enter.
· Geographical areas with defined perimeters- examples = in a building, room, garage, doorway, elevator, bathtub, shower, hammock, armchair (but ON and armless chair or bench) in a cave, in a tunnel, in a hole, in an automobile (but we usually use ON with other means of transportation such as buses, ships, planes, trains, …etc. see rules for ON). IN a park, garden, forest, valley, deserts, mountain ranges, stadium, parking place, field, but ON the surface of a sports field or court). IN a town, city, county, state, nation . IN a large island, and island nation.. but we say ON a small island, and ON the continent… See ON.
· The street when referring to a scene of action: examples= dancing in the street, marching in the street, riots in the street, etc. … but see the rules for ON and AT regarding reference to a street as a general location or as part of a specific address.
· Publications or documents: Examples= in a newspaper, in a book, magazine, article, decree, dossier, file, etc.
· “Celestial “areas: examples= in the sky, air, universe, galaxy, heaven(s), constellation, atmosphere, space, etc… but ON a planet or moon.
· Towns or cities when they are mentioned as the site of home, site of a visit, or scene of an event Examples= They met in Caracas. She lives in Barcelona. He is in Caripé today…. (but we usually use AT when a town or city is mentioned as a temporary stop or a final destination or if it is mentioned only as a geographic reference point when giving directions. See rules for AT.

The “I” as a Consonant (La letra “I” usado como consonante)
In some words, when the “i” comes before a vowel in the same syllable, the “I” has the sound of the consonant “y” as in YES and YOYO. (En algunos palabras, cuando el “I” viene antes de un vocal en la misma silaba, el “I” tiene el sonido de la consonante “y” como en las palabras “yes” y “yoyo”.

TH pronunciacion
"TH" PRONUNCIATION
Hay dos manera de pronunciar el “TH”: sin la voz (e) como en “thin”, y con la voz (Ò) como en “this”:
1) Practica con el sonido: e como en thin:
Para producir esta sonido, aguanta la punta de tu lengua suavemente entre los dientes y deja tu respiración sin voz fluir continuamente y suavemente entre la superficie de tu lengua y tus dientes.
Practica con las palabras siguientes:
Thin, thought, thick, thumb, think, thorn, author, nothing, mouth, forth, anything, both, bath, path, breath, thank, throat, everything, teeth, math
Practica estas oraciones:
My teeth are in my mouth.
Thank you for everything.
Throw the things back and forth.
2) Practicar con el sonido: Ó como en “this”
Para producir este sonido, aguanta la punta de la lengua entre los dientes y haz un sonido continuo. No soplas aire.
Practica con las siguientes palabras:
This, the, other, that, then, these, them, those, theirs, further, rather, bathe, smooth, breathe

Practica estas oraciones:

“With” y “without” pueden ser pronunciados con o sin voz .
